AfroerotiK

Erotic provocateur, racially-influenced humanist, relentless champion for the oppressed, and facilitator for social change, Scottie Lowe is the brain child, creative genius and the blood, sweat, and tears behind AfroerotiK. Intended to be part academic, part educational, and part sensual, she, yes SHE gave birth to the website to provide people of African descent a place to escape the narrow-mined, stereotypical, limiting and oft-times degrading beliefs that abound about our sexuality. No, not all Black men are driven by lust by white flesh or to create babies and walk away. No, not all Black women are promiscuous welfare queens. And as hard as it may be to believe, no, not all gay Black men are feminine, down low, or HIV positive. Scottie is putting everything on the table to discuss, debate, and dismantle stereotypes in a healthy exchange of ideas. She hopes to provide a more holistic, informed, and enlightened discussion of Black sexuality and dreams of helping couples be more open, honest, and adventurous in their relationships.

Attention Light-Skinned Women

I am putting every light-skinned Black woman on notice.  Hence forth and forever more, after the vile, reprehensible, racist/colorist/misogynoir comments that Leslie Jones has been subjected to, from racist white people AND from coon-ass, self-hating Black men, be prepared for me to curse you out like you’ve never been cursed before in your life if you have the audacity to suggest that somehow your plight as a light-skinned Black woman has been similarly tragic or painful to that of the dark-skinned Black woman.  I’m going to make you regret your callous and thoughtless words if I read one single comment from a light-skinned Black woman saying, “Oh, boo hoo hoo, I got called ‘too pretty’ or ‘high yellow’ when I was young and it hurt my feelings.  My pain is just as valid as dark-skinned women’s pain,” Im’ma curse you up one side and down the other.  If I overhear one single solitary light-skinned woman say anything other than, “While I’ve been subjected to taunts and comments that hurt my feelings because of my lighter skin tone, I fully acknowledge that dark-skinned Black women have been subjected to FAR worse than anything I’ve ever been subjected to and my heart goes out to every dark-skinned woman who has ever been ridiculed, demonized, degraded, or humiliated because of her beautiful, rich, deep, melanated skin tone.”  It’s called empathy for someone whose plight is worse than yours.  Try it.

You lose NOTHING, not a god damn thing, by saying that dark-skinned women are treated and have been historically treated exponentially worse in this society than light-skinned women.  It’s been that way since the first captured African was impregnated.  Black men will not think you are uglier.  You will not get less dates.  You will not turn dark-skinned overnight.  All you have to do is find a little humility in your heart and acknowledge that our society consistently and pathologically treats dark-skinned Black women like shit.  Want proof? Finish this joke.  Your mama is sooooo light . . . Wait, you can’t, can you?  No, because you’ve never been subjected to the internalized racism that dark-skinned Black women face from their very own community and you certainly have never been called the unspeakable names that racist, coward whites feel free to hurl over the internet.  What’s worse, being called a “red bone” or someone saying, “You think you cute,” or being called a jungle bunny, porch monkey, Ubangi African black ass nigger, nigger, nigger?  The world will not stop spinning if you say that what dark-skinned women have it far worse than you do.  I promise.

Every magazine cover, every television show, every movie, book cover, commercial, and music video, every single solitary facet of our society praises light skinned women as being the most beautiful Black women.  NEVER have you been subjected to the cruel and hateful comments that dark-skinned women have had to endure and whatever taunts or comments you might have gotten, they do not and cannot compare to what dark-skinned women have been subjected to.  Acknowledge that so that we might take a tiny little step off the plantation and move toward healing.

Now, run tell that!

Black BDSM

I'm engaged in an interesting discussion (thankfully, not a debate) about the concept of Black men dominating Black women, and subsequently, Black women dominating Black men.  Several very important questions have been asked of me and I feel it's essential to share my reflections for the larger public in order that others MIGHT examine their own motives, objectives and beliefs and reconsider what they know to be true.

I dominate white men and white men only.  In this country, with its despicable history of slavery and the exponentially sadistic and cruel treatment our ancestors endured at the hands of white people, treatment in which they did not receive sexual pleasure but that trapped them in a life of servitude, I will NEVER dominate a black body.  I will not degrade, humiliate, or oppress a Black man.  I will, however, work to educate him, lift him up so that he might see his greatness, will offer my unconditional love, support and encouragement.  I owe Black men that much for all that they must endure.

Black submissive women have been led to believe that choosing to be dominated, giving consent to being beaten and abused by Black men is an empowering alternative to the repeated and persistent rape, molestation, an abuse that we have received at the hands of the men who were entrusted to care for us and who betrayed us.  That is not empowerment, that is conforming to abuse because you know of no alternatives.  It hurts me deeply, on a cellular level, when Black men feel the need to dominate Black women who have been molested, raped, objectified, abused and treated like society's trash. Why is it so hard for us to love each other holistically and completely, without the power exchange and the physical abuse that has been beaten into us?  Obviously, the question is rhetorical.

Black submissive men are largely, but certainly not all, manifestations of Black men who don't have a foot of black dick swinging between their legs and their internalized self-hatred and low self-esteem resulting from not seeing themselves as “real” Black men in a culture that ONLY respects the engorged penises of African American men.  Manhood is more than just having a big dick however.  Manhood is more than being a hyper-masculine basketball player/rapper/drug dealer who lives to fuck white women.  I've tried to show Black men that manhood is having integrity, keeping your word, developing one's natural skills and abilities with the hopes that they might see that their need to be degraded and shamed for not measuring up to the Mandingo myth is not a measure of their worth in this society.

Finally the submissive Black men and women who need to submit to white people have an inherent belief that they are inferior, they want to be accepted and loved and valued but they come in the body of darkness that society abhors.  They seek out punishment, to want to be called a nigger whore and other racial epithets because they want to be punished for not being white.  It is the doll experiment all grown up.  Society reinforces in subtle and not so subtle ways that Black is the wrong color.  Is it any wonder that behind closed doors, the very people who want to be respected, who feel frustrated and trapped in a skin color they have been told is wrong seek out insecure white individuals who will degrade them for their Blackness?

The alternative is to teach Black women to love themselves, to love their dark skin and big lips and their natural, nappy hair that society continually tells them is wrong and bad and ugly.  Love the package that The Creator wanted you to have.  The alternative for Black women is to teach them not to be ashamed of being a victim of rape and molestation as we've been taught to do but rather to shame their abusers publicly and to find TRUE empowerment in demanding that they be treated with sensuality and eroticism and romance rather than submitting to the very men who get pleasure from seeing their pain.  The alternative is for Black women to know their true worth is not to be kicked and slapped and restrained and treated like an object but to KNOW that they are Divine manifestations of the one most high and that is not a white male in sky punishing them for their darkness.

The alternative for Black men who enjoy dominating Black women?  I don't think there is one.  Their need to feel power over something that comes in the exact form of their mother, the person who gave them life, is reprehensible to me.  If you choose to beat and punish that representation to boost your self-esteem or get sexual pleasure I fear for your eternal soul.

I dominate white men and men only.  I do not dominate white women because they are victims of the same patriarchal society that oppresses me.  While we do not have the same struggles, I will not participate in their oppression.  I will, however, take great pleasure and satisfaction in divesting white men of their fallacious sense of superiority, their unearned privilege, their arrogance, their condescension and their inherent racist beliefs.  White men have never been the victims of oppression in this society.  They have never been historically and systematically discriminated against.  They have positions of power in which they can maintain institutionalized racism and it is for those and other reasons I will continue to dominate them psychologically.  I do not dominate them sexually as I will not conform to their racist sexual fetishes but I will educate them, I will divest them of their false sense of superiority and I will make them see that my natural superiority is not a role I play to fuel their racist beliefs of what a Black woman is.

STOP Thinking Slaves were Inferior!

You have been brainwashed!  The common belief, the common perception across this racist nation is that Africans were inferior and that is why whites enslaved them.  We have been led to believe that white people had a responsibility to enslave Africans because they recognized that there was something inherently inferior in their beautiful black skin, their wide noses, thick lips, wooly hair, in the way they worshiped The Creator, and in their ease and comfort with their bodies and their sexuality.  That is the lie that has been perpetuated and that is maintained even until today.  In no way shape or form were Africans inferior.  Any race of people who would kidnap and murder tens of millions of people just because they were different from them is the very definition of inferior.  Any race of people who would transport tens of millions of people thousands of miles across an ocean, taking them from their families, murdering untold MILLIONS more people in the process, who thought so little of human life that they would house human beings in vile and disgusting conditions, piled on top of one another, laying in piss and shit, fed food not fit for humans, for financial gain, for MONEY, is the poster child for inferiority.  No facial feature, no hair type, no skin color can make a person inferior.  It’s not possible.  What makes a race of people inferior is their lack of humanity, their lack of empathy, their xenophobia, their intolerance, NOT the width of their nostrils or the amount of melanin in their skin.

You have been bamboozled!  Everything in our society is based on the belief that slaves were inherently inferior and whites were inherently superior.  Ask yourself, is it superior to use a race of people to work for you, to profit from their labor, and to never pay those people a dime in their lifetimes?  Those sounds like the actions of a lazy, greedy, inherently inferior race of people, doesn’t it?  How on earth could that be considered superior?  Yet somehow, the common belief is that slave owners were superior, that they alone possessed a God-given right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.  Is it superior to deny a race of people an education, to deny human beings the basic rights that are inherent to them?  Is it superior to beat a person’s religion out of them?  How much would have you have to beat a person to make them renounce their God and worship yours?  Systematically beating, raping, hanging, lynching, and murdering people just because of the color of their skin does not constitute superiority in any way, shape, or form.  Selling a newborn baby from a mother’s loving arms is heinous and reprehensible, not superior.  If one were TRULY inherently superior, they certainly would not have a need to oppress anyone.  A superior race of people would be one that could survive cultural annihilation, who could excel despite being generationally oppressed.   Black people are ashamed of being descended from slaves: hard-working, resilient, gifted, and innocent of any wrongdoing, and whites are proud of being descendants of slave owners: abusive, sadistic, greedy, and ego-maniacal.  Does that make sense to you?

You have been hoodwinked!  Blacks are socio-economically, intellectually, and morally inferior because . . . well, just because.  It’s the natural order of things, we are inherently more stupid because of our skin color.  That’s what every single solitary thing in our society will tell you.  That’s what the vast and overwhelming majority of white people believe at their core.  It is impossible for them to believe that the actions of their oppression for hundreds of years have created a race of people who have been disadvantaged by their greed, by their inflated egos, by their distorted sense of superiority.  There is NOTHING, absolutely nothing about the genetic make-up, DNA, brains, or skin color of Black people that makes us inferior.  Every single, solitary unhealthy or dysfunctional trait we might possess as a people is directly related to white people’s efforts to psychologically, economically, and physically destroy us as a people for generations. The only think that makes us disadvantaged as a people is directly proportionate to the actions of white people denying us access to education, employment, housing, and equal justice.  Black people are not more criminal, lazy, or prone to violence in the least.  The violent race of people are the ones who murdered millions, tens of millions of Natives to steal their land, again for profit.  The violent race of people are the ones who burned down entire towns to keep Blacks from being self-sufficient and acquiring their own wealth.  The truly violent, inferior race of people are the ones who sent out postcards of lynchings where they were smiling and happy in front of dismembered, burning, dead Black bodies.  Who would do that?  Certainly not a superior people.

Think about that!
